THIS ONE IS FOR ALLTHE WONDERFUL PEOPLE OF COROZAL

We have a wonderful town, The people are all friendly and full of life. The Bay is beautiful and when the sun rises in the morning it sparkles a golden colour on the water and in the sky.

From Maya Monuments strategically place to sugar cane fields and a sparkly blue green bay--- COROZAL TOWN IS IN THE NORTH OF BELIZE AND A WONDERFUL PLACE TO RETIRE TO.

Corozal Town is on the border with MEXICO and 6 hours away by road from Cancun and then just a plane hop to the USA and the rest of the world.

There is an Ex Pat community in the most Northernly area of Corozal called Consejo Village.

The people of Corozal enjoy travelling the 15 minutes by road to the border so that they can shop, go to the movies, and enjoy Mexican cuisine at the many restaurants in Chetumal, Q. Roo. Many of the young people are now furthering their studies in Chetumal at such universities as UNID Sede Chetumal, ITCH and UQROO. There is also a nursing school and a medical university in Chetumal along with other schools for cosmetology, design and other fields.

Belizeans speak two main languages English and Spanish. There is a broke dialect known as Creole.

The people of Belize are of many ethnicity: Belizean Creole, Belizean Mestizo, Belizean Garinagu, Chinese, Indian, Pakistani, Salvadorean, Honduran, and Guatemalan to name a few.

All in all Corozaleñians are hardworking, peaceful, fun going and honest.

I lived in Corozal for 40 years arriving there at the age of 7 and leaving when I was 47. I always go back to visit and plan to return one day soon to reclaim my place among my people and in my town. For now, I keep them close in my heart. Life in Corozal is inviting. I hope if you have not been there that you will do so one day.
