FEATURING JAISEN BARRERA, ANOTHER OF MY STUDENTS OF WHOM I AM PROUD

The person I am featuring today was student of mine at CCC.

JAISEN BARRERA grew up at Libertad Village in the Corozal District, Belize.

Jaisen attended Libertad Methodist School for his elementary schooling and the Corozal Community College for his secondary education.

He came to the United States of America in 1999. Jaisen attended Lehman College in the Bronx, NY and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree.



Jaisen joined the Army in January, 2007. His first duty station was at Fort Drum, NY. He was deployed to Iraq in 2008. His next duty station was at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii. After Hawaii his next duty station was to Fort Bliss, TX where he currently is. Last July, Jaisen went to Zambia, Africa where they were training the Zambian Defense Force and the Zambian Police Force.



After 7 weeks away from his beautiful family and working hard Jaisen made it another level up the ladder once more. 

Jaisen Barrera's rank is now Staff Sergeant (SSG). His position is Recruiter in the United States Army.

Jaisen has been married since October, 2008 and has two children, a girl and a boy, with his beautiful wife, Dilcia.



JAISEN WE ARE PROUD OF ALL YOUR ACCOMPLISHMENTS AND WE WISH YOU ALL THE BEST IN THE FUTURE.

His name is Xavier and two angels on Earth and their son have showed him what love means!

Xavier loves playing soccer and is Ehren's friend. When he told Ehren he would love to play soccer, Ehren asked his mom if it was okay for him to join the team. After asking Xavier's mom if he could join the team, Arley became Soccer mom to Xavier! He would come on practice days to the Partida's and his mom would pick him up after the game. Eventually, Xavier came to live with these loving people who have taken him in and treat him as one of their own.

This just goes to show that Arlene "Arley" and Francisco"Pancho" Partida are down to earth ANGELS in more ways than one. If I had a medal to award for PARENTS EXTRAORDINAIRE it would go to this wonderful, loving couple.



When Xavier received this Certificate of Recognition in May of this year, Arley wrote this...

You have come a long way dude! I am so proud of you not only for this but for the hard work you have put in the past two years you have been with us. You are more confident and more independent and it's all due to you... don't let anyone take it away from you. We will always be there for you. Just keep trying.


Hats off to Arley and Pancho. God Bless You in all your future endeavours. The world needs more caring people like you.

A POEM I DEDICATED TO CIARRA ON HER GRADUATION FROM MIDDLE SCHOOL!!!

THE DAY IS HERE

(For my granddaughter, Ciarra Alexandria Thompson)

The Day is now here,

You’re moving on,

High School comes next year,

Like the coming of new dawn.

The years go by so fast,

It seems just yesterday,

We were happy you were here at last,

On that warm August day.

Many “first” have become happy memories,

In each your beautiful smile would beam,

As you captured our hearts like a queen.

Now its time to warn you of what lies ahead,

Of boys with promises, friends with ideas,

Teachers and homework, project and deadlines,

Progress and goals, all yours to achieve.

It’s the stairway you must climb,

If you want to be successful in time.

So, study and learn all that you can,

Make education a part of your plan.

You can be whatever you choose to be,

If you work hard it’s yours to achieve.

So on this your Graduation from Eighth Grade,

I wish you all the best,

THE MOM BEHIND IT ALL - ARLENE PECH PARTIDA

Arlene is a SOCCER MOM, wife and all around Wonder Woman who grew up in Corozal Town, Belize!

I first met Arley when she was one of a trio... that trio included my daughter, Carolyn, and their friend, Marleny. The three were inseparable friends throughout their school years and could be seen riding their bikes all over Corozal on Sundays.

Arley was a bubbly teenager filled with laughter and happiness so it is no wonder that she would grow up to become a member of a family of Sports lovers.

Today Arley Partida is a Referee, Coach, Safety Director, and Division Commisioner of ASYO, the " ALL Volunteer" Non-Profit Youth Soccer Organization. .

She is also the PTA president at her son, Ehren Partida's School and sits on the Board at son, Quillen's High School. 

This past year she formed the first ever Booster Club at son Aiden's school.

Hats off to Arlene and her husband, Pancho, for being so active and for bringing up three fine sons.
