(I READ THIS AND JUST HAD TO SEND IT SO MORE PEOPLE COULD ENJOY. HAVE A HAPPY DAY!)
When I got home that night as my wife served dinner, I held her hand and said, "I've got something to tell you". She sat down and ate quietly. Again I observed the hurt in her eyes.
Suddenly I didn't know how to open my mouth. But I had to let her know what I was thinking. I want a divorce. I raised the topic calmly.
She didn't seem to be annoyed by my words, instead she asked me softly, why? I avoided her question. This made her angry. She threw away the chopsticks and shouted at me, you are not a man! That night, we didn't talk to each other. She was weeping. I knew she wanted to find out
what had happened to our marriage. But I could hardly give her a satisfactory answer; she had lost my heart to a lovely girl called Dew. I didn't love her anymore. I just pitied her!
With a deep sense of guilt, I drafted a divorce agreement which stated that she could own our house, our car, and 30% stake of my company. She glanced at it and then tore it into pieces. The woman who had spent ten years of her life with me had become a stranger. I felt
sorry for her wasted time, resources and energy but I could not take back what I had said for I loved Dew so dearly. Finally she cried loudly in front of me, which was what I had expected to see. To me her cry was actually a kind of release. The idea of divorce which had obsessed me for several weeks seemed to be firmer and clearer now.
The next day, I came back home very late and found her writing something at the table. I didn't have supper but went straight to sleep and fell asleep very fast because I was tired after an eventful day with Dew. When I woke up, she was still there at the table writing. I just did
not care so I turned over and was asleep again.
In the morning she presented her divorce conditions: she didn't want anything from me, but needed a month's notice before the divorce. She requested that in that one month we both struggle to live as normal a life as possible. Her reasons were simple: our son had his exams in a
month's time and she didn't want to disrupt him with our broken marriage.
This was agreeable to me. But she had something more, she asked me to recall how I had carried her into our bridal room on our wedding day. She requested that everyday for the month's duration I carry her out of our bedroom to the front door every morning. I thought she was going crazy. Just to make our last days together bearable I accepted her odd request.
I told Dew about my wife s divorce conditions. She laughed loudly and thought it was absurd. No matter what tricks she applies, she has to face the divorce, she said scornfully.
My wife and I hadn't had any body contact since my divorce intention was explicitly expressed. So when I carried her out on the first day, we both appeared clumsy. Our son clapped behind us, daddy is holding mummy in his arms. His words brought me a sense of pain. From the bedroom to the sitting room, then to the door, I walked over ten meters with her in my arms. She closed her eyes and said softly; don't tell our son about the divorce. I nodded, feeling somewhat upset. I put her down outside the door. She went to wait for the bus to work. I drove alone to the office.
On the second day, both of us acted much more easily. She leaned on my chest... I could smell the fragrance of her blouse. I realized that I hadn't looked at this woman carefully for a long time. I realized she was not young any more. There were fine wrinkles on her face, her hair
was graying! Our marriage had taken its toll on her. For a minute I wondered what I had done to her..
On the fourth day, when I lifted her up, I felt a sense of intimacy returning. This was the woman who had given ten years of her life to me. On the fifth and sixth day, I realized that our sense of intimacy was growing again. I didn't tell Dew about this. It became easier to carry her as the month slipped by. Perhaps the everyday work-out made me stronger.
She was choosing what to wear one morning. She tried on quite a few dresses but could not find a suitable one. Then she sighed, all my dresses have grown bigger. I suddenly realized that she had grown so thin, that was the reason why I could carry her more easily. Suddenly it hit me; she had buried so much pain and bitterness in her heart. Subconsciously I reached out and touched her head.
Our son came in at the moment and said, Dad, it's time to carry mum out. To him, seeing his father carrying his mother out had become an essential part of his life. My wife gestured to our son to come closer and hugged him tightly. I turned my face away because I was afraid I might change my mind at this last minute. I then held her in my arms, walking from the bedroom, through the sitting room, to the hallway. Her hand surrounded my neck softly and naturally. I held her body tightly; it was just like our wedding day. But her much lighter weight made me sad. On the last day, when I held her in my arms I could hardly move a step. Our son had gone to school. I held her tightly and said, I hadn't noticed that our life lacked intimacy.
I drove to office... jumped out of the car swiftly without locking the door. I was afraid any delay would make me change my mind... I walked upstairs. Dew opened the door and I said to her, Sorry, Dew, I do not want the divorce anymore.
She looked at me, astonished. Then touched my forehead. Do you have a fever? She said. I moved her hand off my head. Sorry, Dew, I said, I won't divorce. My marriage life was boring probably because she and I didn't value the details of our lives, not because we didn't love each
other any more. Now I realize that since I carried her into my home on our wedding day I am supposed to hold her until death do us apart. Dew seemed to suddenly wake up. She gave me a loud slap and then slammed the door and burst into tears. I walked downstairs and drove away.
At the floral shop on the way, I ordered a bouquet of flowers for my wife. The salesgirl asked me what to write on the card. I smiled and wrote, "I'll carry you out every morning until death do us apart".
The small details of your lives are what really matter in a relationship. It is not the mansion, the car, property, the money in the bank, blah...blah..blah. These create an environment conducive for happiness but cannot give happiness in themselves. So find time to be your spouse's friend and do those little things for each other that build intimacy. Do have a real happy marriage!

FOR THE WORKING GIRL
COMPANY POLICY
Dress Code - It is advised that you come to work dressed according to your salary. If we see you wearing Prada shoes and carrying a Gucci bag, we assume you are doing well financially and therefore do not need a raise. If you dress poorly, you need to learn to manage your money better, so that you may buy nicer clothes, and therefore you do not need a raise. If you dress just right, you are right where you need to be and therefore you do not need a raise.
Sick Days - We will no longer accept a doctor's statement as proof of sickness. If you are able to go to the doctor, you are able to come to work.
Personal Days - Each employee will receive 104 personal days a year. They are called Saturday & Sunday.
Bereavement Leave - This is no excuse for missing work. There is nothing you can do for dead friends, relatives or co-workers. Every effort should be made to have non-employees attend to the arrangements. In rare cases where employee involvement is necessary, the funeral should be scheduled in the late afternoon. We will be glad to allow you to work through your lunch hour and subsequently leave one hour early.
Toilet Use - Entirely too much time is being spent in the toilet. There is now a strict three-minute time limit in the stalls. At the end of three minutes, an alarm will sound, the toilet paper roll will retract, the stall door will open, and a picture will be taken. After your second offense, your picture will be posted on the company bulletin board under the "Chronic Offenders category". Anyone caught smiling in the picture will be sanctioned under the company's mental health policy.
Lunch Break - Skinny people get 30 minutes for lunch, as they need to eat more, so that they can look healthy. Normal size people get 15 minutes for lunch to get a balanced meal to maintain their average figure. Chubby people get 5 minutes for lunch, because that's all the time needed to drink a Slim-Fast.
Thank you for your loyalty to our company. We are here to provide a positive employment experience. Therefore, all questions, comments, concerns, complaints, frustrations, irritations, aggravations, insinuations, allegations, accusations, contemplations, consternation and input should be directed elsewhere.

IT TAKES A FRIEND, TO ...

Well ladies, here is February 1st, 2009. One month down and eleven more to go before we say good bye to 2009.
Anyone out there feeling that they have been used or hurt by someone they trusted. Well if you are like that then sit back and read something that I discovered.
Firstly, there is no true friend in this world anymore. Everyone is out to blast someone. Everyone is out to get what they can from someone and everyone have an issue and if they are like some people I met well…… then you are in for a long haul.
I met this woman back in November of 2007 and from what I could see she seem okay. Then in September of 2008 she was back and once again she seemed fine. We became friends and would chat for long period of time. Then I had the bad luck of fining out she is just like all the other women who come around. In fact, because of her my life took a change that I am still trying to comprehend. Today I have stopped talking to her and have avoided being where she is. I need to tell someone that she is not all she pretends to be because she has told me some things that make her to be just like all the other gold diggers around who are out to find what they can get from those who feel they need to help others.
Then she went and did the unforgiveable and she knows what I am talking about. I have no intention of keeping in contact with a fake and now I feel I should tell the person she is using that she is not the woman she wants us to think she is.
What I have to say about this sort of “friendship” is WE DON’T NEED IT. And if the person really does get more from us than we get from them, then we can leave and never look back. I am giving my so called “friend” the silent treatment. I may never visit her home and I may never buy her meal again. She proved to me that she was not a friend and I am sorry but this world is filled with persons who are looking for someone to share good and bad time that we don’t have time for those who lie and cheat.
Something to ponder on:
How do we know if we have a true friend? The signs will be there. You will be able to see it in their actions more times than not. But the bottom dollar is we have to learn to read the signs. They are everywhere.

HEY GIRLFRIENDS. WE KNEW IT ALL ALONG
Girls, boys agree girls worker harder
NEW YORK (UPI) -- The presidential election has resulted in girls and boys having an increased awareness of the barriers that face women, a U.S. survey indicates.
Fifty-nine percent say the election increased their confidence in being able to achieve their goals in the future, while 55 percent say the election has increased their comfort level in speaking up and expressing their opinions.
Both boys and girls increased their appreciation for the difficulties that women face. Forty-three percent of girls say they strongly believe "girls have to work harder than boys in order to gain positions of leadership," a statement that 25 percent of girls agreed with just a year ago.
The percentage of girls who believe that "today both men and women have an equal chance of getting a leadership position" has declined from 35 percent to 24 percent between 2007 and 2008.
The percentage of girls who believe that "in our society, it is more difficult to become a leader for a woman than a man," increased from 23 percent in 2007 to 37 percent in 2008.
The percentage of girls who say they believe that "today both men and women have an equal chance of getting a leadership position" has declined from 35 percent to 24 percent between 2007 and 2008.
The survey was conducted Nov. 11-Dec. 2, 2008, by the market research firm Fluent. The survey consisted of online interviews with 3,284 people ages 13 and 17. No margin of error was provided.

HAPPY NEW YEAR, CAROLYN AND CIARRA
Dearest Carolyn,
This was the first year I was unable to be with you all for Christmas and New Years Day is here and I am filled with so much love and wishes for you. Daughter, you have been and will always be the joy of my life. You have been loved from the moment I found out I was carrying you in my womb. The love your father and I had for each other and the love we had when you arrived was special.
Over the years I became a single parent and that did not stop me from seeing you through high school, Sixth Form and University. Today you are thousands of miles away in Georgia, USA but you remain in my heart as the ray of sunshine that has brightened and guided me over the years.
I wish you all the best, Bibs. If Tia Brenda and Chichi were alive I know they would be so proud of all that you have achieved. I know that I am proud of you and have always been proud of you. Your successes are my successes. Keep on attaining that star that shines in your eyes and heart.
As we move into 2009, I look forward to seeing you and being with you. Keep on smiling and joking and being the best friend a mother could ask for. Baby girl, you are my greatest achievement. You are the best poem I have ever written, the best song I have ever sung and the best speech I have ever given. Reach for the unreachable and remember that you can be all you want to be.
Just say I CAN and you will be surprised at how much you will be able to do.
I love you and always will.
Mama
Ciarra, my little princess,
From the first moment I held you in my arms I knew you were grandma's girl. You are my joy and my peace. You are my blooming lily, my walking happiness. God Bless you my little angel. You are loved and you are cared for. Keep on making us proud of you. Keep on smiling and keep on learning.
Your journey of life has just begun. You have much to achieve and you will!
I love you and I miss you.
Grandma's special little star, know this: I will always be there for you. Reach out and take my hand.
All my love and kisses,
Grandma Brenda

HAPPY NEW YEAR, EVERYONE!! PEACE ON EARTH!

IT'S NEW YEAR'S EVE. ARE YOU READY FOR 2009?

Success comes to he who is willing to work hard, fight a good fight and sacrifice everything when necessary. (Brenda A. Ysaguirre)
As we near the end of another year we are faced with many new challenges. The economical situation at home and abroad dims the festive moment. If what the analysts are saying is true, we can look forward to a new year filled with more hardship as more people lose there jobs and many others graduate into a world that offers very little for them. Only the strong will survive. Only those who know the true meaning of sacrifice will succeed. Only the fearless will attain the satisfaction of a hard day's work for a well earned pay.
I do not mean to dampen the eve of New Year's Eve. I only want to make sure we all understand that there will be a lot of hardship but that we can win the battle in the New Year if we use stamina and sacrifice.
Good Luck to everyone and do have a Happy New Year. Go out or just stay at home and eat some grapes (12 actually to follow the Spanish tradition of one for each month of the year. You eat them just before midnight and our ancestors believed it would give you a good year.)
Have a Blessed New Year. Remember, we can make 2009 all it was meant to be if we work hard and sacrifice when necessary.

IT'S BOXING DAY!! PRESENTS! PRESENTS! PRESENTS!
When you live in two worlds like I now do it is hard for me to say hi from Belize and not from Mexico. This past year has been one of growth, sorrow, happiness, fulfilment and progress. We look at the world today and we are fortunate to just be alive. There are so many less fortunate so while we want to complain about not being able to buy this and that, we must stop and think that there are many who have no where to sleep and no food to eat. No one to tell them "I Love You", "I care for you" and all the things we take for granted in our everyday existence.
As Christmas comes around once more we are singing and feeling the spirit of Christmas. BUT ARE WE REALLY BEING CHRISTIANS? ARE WE REALLY LOVING EACH OTHER? THE TIME HAS COME. THIS IS THE REASON FOR MERRIMENT BUT IT IS ALSO THE REASON TO DO BETTER. LET US LOOK AROUND US AND TRY TO HELP AT LEAST ONE LESS FORTUNATE HUMAN BEING. THIS WORLD IS OURS AND WHAT WE DO WITH IT WILL BE PASSED DOWN TO OUR CHILDREN AND GRANDCHILDREN. REMEMBER, LOVE IS ALL IT TAKES.
LOVE, PEACE, JOY,
BRENDA

THANK YOU FOR BEING THERE FOR ME
A lot has changed since I last wrote. I became a student at the University UNID en Chetumal, Q.Roo, Mexico in the day sessions, I still am Director of CCC ACE and CJC ACE, I have opened a Health SPA in Corozal Town, Belize and my once calm world now is filled with work, friends, problems, sleepless nights, in all A NEW LIFE. While much has changed, much has remained the same and for that I am gratedul. I thank all those who give meaning to my life: my daughter, Carolyn, my granddaughter, Ciarra, Miya, my son-in-law, Triccia, my stepdaughter and Abel, the light in my world and the brain behind many of the wonderful things that I now experience.
As this year comes to an end, I give love to all my readers, friends and family b=for being a part of my life. Thank you for being there and for being energy to my sometimes tired bones. Life is a miracle of people, places and things. How we live it makes it worth living or worth dying for.
The Man who walks this world alone has nothing while the Man who struggles down the path with the help of family and friends lives a life of many splendours. (Brenda A. Ysaguirre aka Brenda Izaguirre Gill)

AFTER THE STORM- PLEASE HELP BELIZE

For the time being the rains have stopped and now we have a cold front over Belize. However, all is not over. Now is the time of recovery. The people in the areas that had the flooding ae still suffering. Many are still not in their homes and many have lost most of their personal properties.
NOW IS THE TIME WHEN WE HAVE TO GIVE A HELPING HAND.
PLEASE GIVE GENEROUSLY TO THE RELIEF ORGANIZERS WHO ARE GOING TO TAKE FOOD, MEDICINES AND CLOTHING ( AMONG OTHER THINGS) TO THOSE WHO NOW NEED OUR HELP.
In an effort to assist our brothers and sisters who have suffered so much in the past weeks, the YO PUEDO GROUP OF COROZAL and CCC ACE and CJC ACE have initiated a drive to collect non-persishable goods and clothing. THIS IS THE TIME WHEN WE NEED TO COME TOGETHER. LET US GIVE FROM THE HEART.

THE POWER OF A WOMAN

"Then was woman made the greatest thing in this world. She was given the power to bring into this world offsprings that would multiply and the nation would grow and the people would have leaders and friends, and colleagues and life would be worth while." (Brenda A. Ysaguirre)
Perfect lines that tell us that we as WOMEN have a right to be here and that we are the reason so much happens in this world.
Ladies, look at yourselves and see the power of a woman who can move mountains, claim hearts and destroy those who try to destroy us. We are POWER. We are LIFE. We are EARTH. WE ARE!!!
You must look at yourself and see the real YOU. You must be able to say everyday, "I AM WOMAN. I AM FREE. I CAN DO WHATEVER IT IS THAT IS NEEDED TO BE DONE!"
Have a great day and remember:
"The power of a woman is as strong as she is." (Brenda A. Ysaguirre)

COUNLDN'T THE NEXT PRIME MINISTER OF BELIZE BE A WOMAN?

I WAS THINKING. WHAT IF THE NEXT PRIME MINISTER OF BELIZE WAS A WOMAN?
LADIES OUT THERE, DON'T YOU THINK IT IS TIME FOR US TO HAVE MORE THAN AN AVERAGE SAY IN THE RUNNING OF THINGS IN BELIZE?
AR YOU READY? I KNOW I AM.
YOUR COMMENTS WOULD BE APPRECIATED.
HAVE A GREAT DAY AND REMEMBER THIS IS THE MONTH OF PATRIOTIC CELEBRATIONS IN BELIZE.
LET US UNITE FOR A BETTER BELIZE AND ONE WHERE FREEDOM WILL FOREVER REIGN.
MUCH LOVE,
Brenda

TU EDAD Y COMIENDO EN RESTAURANTES

YOUR AGE BY EATING OUT
Don't tell me your age; you probably would tell a falsehood anyway-but
your waiter may know!
YOUR AGE BY DINER & RESTAURANT MATH
This is pretty neat
DON'T CHEAT BY SCROLLING DOWN FIRST!
It takes less than a minute. Work this out as you read.
Be sure you don't read the bottom until you've worked it out!
This is not one of those waste of time things, it's fun.
1. First of all, pick the number of times a week that you would like to go out to eat.
(more than once but less than 10)
2. Multiply this number by 2 (just to be bold)
3. Add 5
4. Multiply it by 50
5. If you have already had your birthday this year add 1758...
If you haven't, add 1757.
6.. Now subtract the four digit year that you were born.
You should have a three digit number

WHY DRINKING IS DANGEROUS FOR WOMEN
Greece dangerous for British women
ATHENS, Greece (UPI) -- So many British women have been sexually assaulted in Greece the Foreign Office has launched a campaign to educate tourists about the danger.
So far this year, 41 women have been attacked, The Daily Mail reported. Police in Greece say the number of reported assaults on British women this year has run at about 10 per month during the peak tourist season, and they expect that by Sept. 15, the number will have surpassed the previous record of 48 set in 2005-2006.
Relative to the number of British tourists, Greece appears to be the most dangerous place in the world for women. Greek police say British men, usually drunk, are responsible for the largest number of attacks, followed by Eastern European immigrant workers and then by Greeks.
Greek police describe British women as more likely to drink heavily than other tourists and also more naive about strangers. They say many rapes may not be reported.
The Foreign Office has begun distributing beer mats, posters and leaflets in resorts where British tourists congregate, warning women of the potential dangers.

IRAQ WOMEN GO FOR THE POLICE FORCE
Female cop class unprecedented in Iraq
KIRKUK, Iraq (UPI) -- An unprecedented number of Iraqi women have started training to become police officers at the Kirkuk Police Academy, officials say.
The 37 female recruits who began their training Saturday are the first women at the academy in a year and their numbers are unprecedented, the American Forces Press Service reported Monday.
An academy officer said female officers are badly needed because Muslim customs do not allow men to touch women. The female officers will allow searches of women at checkpoints and government buildings, he said.
In addition, the academy officer said, "women think differently than men. They will bring fresh ideas to how we conduct business."
For the recruits, becoming a police officer is both a chance to earn a good wage and to serve their country. They hold no truck with terrorists.
"Terrorists are not welcome in the province of Kirkuk," said one 29-year-old recruit who goes by the name Intesar. "They are not Iraqis; they are not Muslim. It is not our way. They are mad."
An Iraqi police recruit earns about 185,000 Iraqi dinars monthly -- about $81 in U.S. currency -- and after graduating will make 500,000 dinar -- about $360.
The female recruits must meet the same standards as men to graduate.

SOM MEN JUST CAN'T UNDERSTAND WOMEN
Guy's rights' lawyer hits women's studies
WASHINGTON (UPI) -- A lawyer who describes himself as a "guy's rights" advocate has filed a lawsuit over the women's studies program at Columbia University in New York.
Roy Den Hollander, an alumnus of the Columbia Business School who practices in Manhattan, has already sued New York nightclubs, claiming that "ladies nights" are unconstitutional. Another pending suit is aimed at the federal Violence Against Women Act.
Den Hollander said that the university is using federal aid to spread a "religionist belief system called feminism," The New York Times reports. He also called women's studies "a bastion of bigotry against men."
In his practice, Den Hollander spends much of his time representing men in litigation, The Times said, and describes himself as specializing in "anti-feminist cases or guys' rights cases."
In addition to Columbia, the suit names as defendants the U.S. Department of Education and three New York state agencies, the Board of Regents, the Department of Education and the Higher Education Services Corp.
In the lawsuit filed Monday in federal court in Manhattan, Den Hollander demands that the university either start a men's studies program or shut women's studies down.

HPV VACCINE NOT SWAYING MOTHERS
Sex doesn't sway mothers on HPV vaccine
GALVESTON, Texas (UPI) -- The view that many moms don't get daughters vaccinated against human papillomavirus because they oppose sex before marriage is untrue, a U.S. study indicates.
Study lead author Susan Rosenthal of the University of Texas Medical Branch said a federal advisory committee recommends all females ages 11 to 12 routinely receive the HPV vaccine. Some critics oppose mandatory vaccinations because of concerns they would promote sexual activity.
The researchers surveyed 153 mothers and guardians of daughters ages 11 to 17 who visited a pediatric clinic in Galveston, Texas, in 2007 and 2008.
The study, published in the September issue of the Journal of Adolescent Health, said a statistical analysis found that the women's views on sexuality and intercourse before marriage had little to do with their vaccine decisions.
"The families who are struggling with what to do about this vaccine are focused on issues like safety" instead of sexual morality, Rosenthal said said in a statement. "They want us to have more experience with it and have it used by more people"
