Yesterday was a big day in our country. Young people went to the different polls throughout the country of Belize and cast their votes for the young persons that will form the various District Youth Councils of Belize. We applaud all candidates as they have taken the challenge of representing the young people in their communities.

My sweet little nephew Gustavo Alexander Ellis Jr. and his class mate presenting their "thesis"as scientists who are planning ways to save the Barrier Reef of Belize. His mom says Gustavo is serious about ending global warming damage to our reef and aims to preserving our fishes and sea creatures.

Gustavo is the son of Angie and Gustavo Ellis Sr of San pedro, Ambergris Caye, Belize. This young man is excelling in his studies and is a blessing to be around. He speaks from the heart and is kind and giving like his parents. I wish him well in all his future endeavours!

Hats off to these two aspiring scientists. Leonardo DiCaprio needs to listen to them!

COROZAL LOST A TRUE SON ON FEB 21, 2016

Jesus Alcoser is on the left. On the right is Mr Usher, his friend. 

Corozal lost a wonderful senior citizen yesterday. Mr Jesus Alcoser, better known as Don Jesus to his clients and friends went home to be with his Creator after battling for some time with illness.

Don Jesus was a butcher who was kind, friendly and always smiling as he attended to his clients. I will never forget him because whenever I would go to buy we would begin chatting and I would spend more time there than someone who just went to buy and left.

He was a wonderful father to his children and a kind grandfather to his grandchildren whom he loved dearly.

MAY HE REST IN PEACE!
