It had been a great day in Belize. The skies at night was beautiful. It's 3:08am in Belize. Have you had time to sit back and enjoy the universe lately or are you busy running from side to side trying to do a million and one things?

Many women the world over are doing just that. Juggling a life and happiness with the million and one things they have to do to keep up with the time-clock. Lord have mercy, are we growing up in an insensitive world where bosses expect too much of us? I think we are! Unfortunately for many of us it is the only thing we can do. So we are forced with this reality and no one can tell us that life will be any better if we stop and smell the roses when we have dictators in the work place. But I want to do just that.

Life is ever changing. Your life is ever changing. You have got to stop and smell the roses sometimes or you will end up sorry to late in life. Stop worrying about petty things and find time to do a few things that make you happy and you will find that life is beautiful. As you live, you die so you have got to make time for YOU!

Remember at birth you began the process of living and at the same time you began to die. You have got to live your life if you are going to be able to make a good life. Lots of people are scared of dying and when they are near death they struggle to stay alive. What would you say if I told you that there is nothing to fear about death? The theory is if you live a good life you have nothing to fear about death. As you life your life, so will you be with your death. If you lived a full life and did good for yourself and others you have nothing to fear by death - AND I AM NOT TALKING ABOUT HEAVEN!!! However, if it makes you feel better, then go right ahead and invision that euphoric place. However in reality you are in heaven NOW! And you are in HELL, too. Depends how you live your life.

So wake up and be thankful for each day you awake. Many people died and never woke up to see morning. Be thankful for your health and the fact that you can walk. Many people are bedridden and have to wait for someone to come to attend to them. Can you talk? Many people can't do that! Can you see!! Same there!!! So what is your gripe about life??

Have a great day and remember to SMELL THE ROSES!!!

Effective immediately,
please be aware that there are changes YOU need
to make in YOUR life. These changes need to be
completed in order that I may fulfill My promises
to you to grant you peace, joy and happiness in
this life. I apologize for any inconvenience,
but after all that I am doing, this seems very
little to ask of you. Please, follow
these 10 guidelines

Life has dealt you a blow and all you do is sit
and worry. Have you forgotten that I am here
to take all your burdens and carry them for you?
Or do you just enjoy fretting over every little
thing that comes your way?

Something needs done or taken care of. Put it
on the list. No, not YOUR list. Put it on MY
to-do-list. Let ME be the one to take care
of the problem. I can't help you until you turn
it over to Me. And although My to-do-list
is long, I am after all... God. I can take care
of anything you put into My hands. In fact,
if the truth were ever really known, I take
care of a lot of things for you that you never
even realize.

Once you've given your burdens to Me,
quit trying to take them back. Trust in
Me. Have the faith that I will take care of
all your needs, your problems and your trials.
Problems with the kids? Put them on My list.
Problem with finances? Put it on My list.
Problems with your emotional roller coaster?
For My sake, put it on My list. I want to
help you. All you have to do is ask.

Don't wake up one morning and say,
"Well, I'm feeling much stronger now, I think
I can handle it from here." Why do you think
you are feeling stronger now? It's simple.
You gave Me your burdens and I'm taking
care of them. I also renew your strength
and cover you in my peace. Don't you
know that if I give you these problems back,
you will be right back where you started?
Leave them with Me and forget about
them. Just let Me do my job.

I want you to forget a lot of things.
Forget what was making you crazy.
Forget the worry and the fretting because
you know I'm in control. But there's one
thing I pray you never forget. Please, don't
forget to talk to Me - OFTEN! I love YOU!
I want to hear your voice. I want you to
include Me in on the things going on in your life.
I want to hear you talk about your friends
and family. Prayer is simply you having
a conversation with Me. I want to be your
dearest friend.

I see a lot of things from up here that you
can't see from where you are. Have faith in
Me that I know what I'm doing. Trust Me;
you wouldn't want the view from My eyes.
I will continue to care for you, watch over you,
and meet your needs. You only have to trust Me.
Although I have a much bigger task than you,
it seems as if you have so much trouble just
doing your simple part. How hard can trust be?

You were taught to share when you were
only two years old. When did you forget?
That rule still applies. Share with those who are
less fortunate than you. Share your joy with
those who need encouragement. Share your
laughter with those who haven't heard any in
such a long time. Share your tears with those
who have forgotten how to cry. Share your faith
with those who have none.

I managed to fix it so in just one lifetime
you could have so many diverse experiences.
You grow from a child to an adult, have children,
change jobs many times, learn many trades,
travel to so many places, meet thousands
of people, and experience so much. How can
you be so impatient then when it takes Me
a little longer than you expect to handle
something on My to-do-list? Trust in My
timing, for My timing is perfect. Just
because I created the entire universe in
only six days, everyone thinks I should
always rush, rush, rush.

Be kind to others, for I love them just
as much as I love you. They may not dress
like you, or talk like you, or live the same way
you do, but I still love you all. Please try
to get along, for My sake. I created each
of you different in some way. It would be
too boring if you were all identical.
Please, know I love each of your differences.

As much as I love you, how can you not
love yourself? You were created by me for
one reason only -- to be loved, and to love
in return. I am a God of Love. Love Me.
Love your neighbors. But also love yourself.
It makes My heart ache when I see you
so angry with yourself when things go
wrong. You are very precious to me.
Don't ever forget......

Note: I rec'd this from a friend and I have
no idea who wrote it, but I was so touched
by it, that I had to share it with you.
I hope that you will be blessed by
it and will share it with others.

For Those Who Cannot Understand King James version.

Sometimes you have to get the message across
as best we can. Try this for those who can't
understand the King James Version:

1. I'm God. Don't play me.
(I am the Lord thy God, thou shalt not have any
other gods before me.)

2. Don't be makin no hood ornaments
and charms outta me, or like me.

(Thou shalt not! have any graven images)

3. Don't be callin' me for no reason
(Thou shalt not use the name of the
Lord thy God in vain)

4.Y'all betta be in church on Sunday,
and not just the Sundays when
it's Mother's Day, Easter
and Christmas

(Remember to keep the Sabbath day holy)

5. Don't dis or cuss out yo momma...
and if you know who ya daddy
is, don't dis him neither.

(Honor thy father and thy mother)

6. Don't be goin' on no drive bys.
(Thou shalt not kill)

7. Stick to ya own Boo.
(Thou shalt not commit adultery)

8. Don't be borrow'n stuff and
don't give it back.

(Thou shalt not steal)

9. Don't be snitchin' on the otha'
man to save yo' behind.

(Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy brother)

10. Don't be eyein' (skeeming) yo
homie's crib, ride, woman,
or nuffin.
(Thou shalt not covet anything that belongs to thy brother).

Here is a road from the eye to the heart that does not go through the intellect.
G. K. Chesterton

We do not understand that life is paradise, for it suffices only to wish to understand it, and at once paradise will appear in front of us in its beauty.
Fyodor Dostoyevsky

The unconscious mind is decidedly simple, unaffected, straightforward, and honest. It hasn’t got all of this façade, this veneer of what we call adult culture. It’s rather simple, rather childish. It’s direct and free.
Milton H. Erikson

Perfection is sure DEATH.
Hugh Prather

Men who wish to know about the world must learn about its particular details.

Let go over a cliff, die completely, and then come back to life --- after that you cannot be deceived.
Zen saying

I feel that my boat has bumped, there at the bottom, into something big. And nothing happens! Or has everything happened, and we are already at rest, in something new?
Juan Ramon Jimenez

When it is cold, water freezes into ice; when it’s warm, ice melts into water. Similarly, when you’re confused, essence freezes into mind; when you are enlightened, mind melts into essence.

Isn’t it funny how one day you can be up in heaven and the next you are down in the slumps? I think life is one crazy situation of highs and lows, and ups and downs and if we stop to try to understand it we may end up confused and unhappy. I have decided not to ponder over many things from now on. I won’t use my energy to try and understand why life is filled with negatives and I won’t stop my heart from beating either. It will continue to dance to the tune that only I can hear. It will bring me happiness because it is mine. It will keep me safe and it must do as I want it to. No one will dictate to me how I should act or react to things around me. If I don't want to find happiness or if I don't want to do anything at all, I won't. This is my life and I will go about it the way I want.

I WILL DECIDE FOR ME. That is what every Belizean woman must have in mind. Nobody must have power over you to control you and to use you and then when they feel like they find excuses to drop you like a hot potato, hurt you like you have no feelings. Belizean woman, the time is now. Build a very hard turtle shell. USE IT. Let it be your shield. The world is filled with pain and sorrow. To avoid it you must be strong. Your shell will be your protection. It is your decision to not be afraid, to stand up for yourself.

It is time for the Belizean woman to stand tall and listen to the sounds of silence. If you are not happy with the life you now have, I ask you to recap. How can you improve on your life? How can you be all you should be? Maybe it is time to set your spirit free. Become a new, vibrant Belizean woman. Let no man block your path. Do things that please you. Go to places that bring you peace and find that inner self that has been dormant for ages. Remember that life is worth living and worth having.

I think things have gotten out of hand these days when we look at how the youths of today deal with the things that are happening in their lives.

I was young once and while I went through some sadness and great losses I don't recall having to get all the attention the youths of today seem to need to keep them in line. What kept us in line back in the day was the belt! I think that we were faced with the reality that there were limits to what would be tolerate from us.

I believe that the youths of today are faced with too many options and allowed to get way with too much. We allow them to do quite a bit of things because we say they are faced with so much hardships and disappointment. But when they become violent doesn't that mean that we are allowing them to get away with being disrepectful and doesn't that open the door for them to become deliquents?

I believe that we need to stop looking at them as persons whom we have to accept as they are because they are growing up without fathers or because they come from big families with a hard life due to lack of income and guidance. Heck, back in the day we were poor. We had loss of a parent or two parents. We had to deal with life and we did great. We moved on and we became strong people who ended up successful.

I think sometimes we can identify between the youth who we need to assist because they genuinely need our help and those who are using us as pawns in their lives. It is hard to know off hand who is being truthful but we have to use our intuition and pray that we do right by each youth. Each case is unique. Each case is special. We just have to know when to move forward and when to back off.

Those of us who have to deal with these dilemas are truly placed in a serious situation. Last night I was faced with a very frigthening situation and I must say that to see a youth filled with so much anger did not help me at all to sympatize for him. Certain events that unfolded over the two hours that I had to deal with this situation made me realize that the youth of today can be a danger to others and himself if we allow them to use the sympathy factor. I pray my decisions over the next few days will not mar my happiness as an educator but I fear this is the opening of a new bag of worms where I will have to re-evaluate what and how I feel about youths in these types of situations.

Until tomorrow, I pray for good judgement, mercy and peace.

Today I celebrate writing the 60th entry for this blog. A special thank you to the person you started me on this track. My dear friend, you have taught and continue to teach me new things. Thanks for sharing with me that part of you that has illuminated my life. Besos Especiales para ti porque eres muy especial.

There are many things that I can write about tonight. It is 12:30pm in Belize and I am listening to Randy Travis sing, " Forever and Ever, Amen." This is the month of love. So my question to you the reader is: Have you shared your love with someone lately? Have you allowed your love to flow out to others? I am hoping your answer is yes. If it is not then you need to reflect on your life. Life and loving go hand in hand. In fact the greatest thing in life is to love. He who has not loved has not experienced anything. He is void, hollow and incomplete.

This is the month of love. This is the month of friendship. All my friends are special to me. Even when we quarrel, there is still that unsaid conversation. I guess because we are humans and have our flaws we sometimes forget that life is all about giving and recieving. You give love and you recieve love. You give a smile and you recieve happiness. Life is a dream. Somedays we are totally in sync with the events that unfold themselves to us. On others we are faced with a sense of loss or wonder.

I think I did something today that will haunt me for a while. I am not sure but for now I am okay with it but time will tell if I should not have done it. Oh, well. That is another thing about life. It is all about learning and sometimes we learn the hard way. A little friend of mine told me I was wrong to do what I did. She is a fountain of wisdom for her young years. Hija, espero que esta vez estas equivocada.

So as I celebrate my 6oth entry, I guess you have realized by now it will be one of reflections and thoughts. Not all coherent but still very human.
All I am going to say tonight is that you must live your life your way. Have fun and be happy.

Yours, Brenda A. Ysaguirre

Women have strengths that amaze men.
They bear hardships and they carry burdens,
But they hold happiness, love and joy.
They smile when they want to scream.
They sing when they want to cry.
They cry when they are happy
And laugh when they are nervous.
They fight for what they believe in.
They stand up to injustice.
They don't take 'no' for an answer
When they believe there is a better solution.
They go without so their family can have.
They go to the doctor with a frightened friend.
They love unconditionally.
They cry when their children excel
And cheer when their friends get awards.
They are happy when they hear about
A birth or a wedding.
Their hearts break when a friend dies.
They grieve at the loss of a family member,
Yet they are strong when they
Think there is no strength left.
They know that a hug and a kiss
Can heal a broken heart.
Women come in all shapes, sizes and colors.
They'll drive, fly, walk, run or e-mail you
To show how much they care about you.
The heart of a woman is what
Makes the world keep turning.
They bring joy, hope and love.
They have compassion and ideas.
They give moral support to their
Family and friends.
Women have vital things to say
And everything to give.

(Written by some woman for women. Whoever you are hats off to you. I salute you and pray we learn to value what we are worth).

It's another peaceful night in Belize. Most Belizeans are driving around town in Corozal as I sit in front of this computer and decide what I am going to write next. It is actually 8:05pm as I begin this page.

I guess we are all focused on the political force that has carried us with it as we begin a new chapter in the history of Belize. We now know where it ended on Thursday, February 7th., 2008 and we must be are prepared to move on as we rebuild this jewel that was tarnished for a brief moment in time. As we set about the tasks that lies ahead for each and every one of us we are filled with wonder. It is time for us to "to bite into the pie" and see what we can do to make this country better. Each and every one of us must do something to better this place we call home. There is no time to sit back and leave it to the next person. We must all get to work to make this a place we can be proud of.

To those who work hard to protect and preserve Belize we extend our most sincere thank you. They are our policemen and women, our Belize Defence Force soldiers, our immigration officers, our customs officers, our teachers, our lawyers, our doctors, all our public and civil servants. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Thank you for working so that Belize can be a place we can be proud of. Thank you for caring enough. Than you for giving your service to this young country.

The work has just begun. There is a lot to do and a lot we will have to do. Let us put aside hatred and greed. Let us put aside anger and frustration. Let us seek peace and harmony. Let us work for the betterment of this country. Let us work hand in hand for the common good of Belize.

Yours sincerely,
Brenda A. Ysaguirre

Today is Valentine’s Day. It is the day we set aside for love and friendship. It is the day we spend far more money than most others year round. It has become a business and economically good for many businesses. But what is this day all about. What is LOVE and how do we get it. Do we buy it? Do we find it? Do we know how to share it? Today maybe we should take time out to analyze our feelings and our lives. We should start somewhere. Why not here? Now! We Must begin to understand ourselves if we are to understand others. A friend has taught me that one of the greatest things in life is to BE LOVE AND TO GIVE LOVE WITHOUT EXPECTING ANYTHING IN RETURN FROM THE PERSON WE GIVE IT TO. “Whatever you give will be returned to you. It flows. Maybe not from those you give to but it does come back in some form or fashion”. Those are his words. They are his belief and I have grown to see them as true. Thank you for opening my eyes and my heart, Abel. Your patience, kindness, support and love are helping me to grow. I am dedicating this page today to you and to the teachings I am now coming to understand. The path is long but it leads home, profe.

Love is a state, a process.
The highest state of love, is NOT in the way of an affectionate relationship, whether with parents, children or partner.
It is simply a state that belongs to your Being.
In the same way that the trees are green, those who feel love, love.
The trees are not green for some specific persons;
They do not become green when you arrive in their view.
The flower continues spreading its fragrance whether someone comes up to it, or not, whether someone appreciated it or not.
The flower does not begin to release its fragrance when it realizes that someone is approaching, whether that person is a poet or a carpenter.
No. The flower continues to release its fragrance always, because this is its state of life, its existence.

Love is a state. A process of continuous evolution.
It is a state that we should all know and enjoy every day.
Love can not depend on an emotional connection with someone.
Love can not be known through someone, much less to someone.
Love is your existence. It's your life and your death, your joy and sadness.
It's your loneliness or company. The greatest love is the one that someone has for self.
Because then you can give love, respect and growth for all no matter which level of relationship others have with us,
We love as we live, and we give as if it were the last thing we do.
Love does not lead roles, or contracts, or promises, not even sex.
Love only brings purity of being someone, of existing. Be love all the time, not just sometimes, not just for convenience, elections, nor for money. Nothing that relates to the material is like love.

You are love. You can not give what you do not have
So, if you are not love, how can you know and say you love?
Much less how can you know love? Love is a state, NOT a relationship with anyone.
Love is the only miracle. Love is the stairway to heaven from hell. Having learned to love, you have learned everything. If you have not learned to love, you have wasted your whole life.
This love is waiting within you. It is not in a hurry: it can wait and you can die.
Birth is not in your hands. You were born and no one had asked you. You were not requested permission; you were not even asked where you wanted to be born and what you wanted to be. We have found yourself here in the midst of life. You could not choose… birth nor death. One day, suddenly, death will come without even warning you. And death does not wait not even an instant. One is born, dies… birth and death are not in your hands you can not do anything about it. Between your birth and your death there is only one thing you can do: love and be loved.

What really goes on in the life of the women and the men that they fall in love with or have an affair with? While this situation is as old as time, there are many circumsatnces in life that help create this type of situation and unfortunately, they don't always have totally happy everyday life memories.

How does one fall down this road in the first place? The pattern, that has been viewed, shows that women become the other women for more reasons than one. Firstly, they need economical assistance and this is one way they can have that. Secondly, they may have been in a stage of vunerability over the lost of a love and this person comes into their lives offering love, tenderness and companionship. Thirdly, there are the situtions created by the lack of a previous person in one's life. The need to feel love, to have someone in your life can make you chose that which is offered - a man who is looking or a little spice in his life!!! Either way, the next few years or months will be filled with more than just happiness because studies have shown us that the poles must be present in life. So, there will definitely be times of sadness to match the times of happiness. That is the reality of life.

At first all is well. There is a string of promises. A lot of time spent together and definitely a lot of soul sharing and searching. In these relationships it is usually the man who is married. So, he knows exactly what he is doing but he can't help himself. The story of "my wife does not satify me" is a 95% line used to get women to fall for them and feel sympathy for them. Sometims it will be followed by "my wife can't have children and I want children". Please ladies, you are only opening yourself to a lot of pain and suffering. "I don't love her. I am only staying with her because of the children". "I love you and I am only happy when I am with you". THIS IS ALL A CRAP OF LIES. If the bastard stays with the two of you, for sure he has no plan to leave his WIFE!!! On the other hand, if he leaves her and moves in with you, you may just have a man who wants YOU!

But lets get back to the situation you have created for the family.
The other woman is sometimes not a very nice person towards the legally created family. Hers, sometimes, is the role of the Black Dalila and while she fights to take out and take over the man she has chosen, the suffering of the family is the least thing on her mind. She will stalk the home of her lover. She will stalk the wife. She will be around where the children are causing pain and shame. This is a very low thing to do and the Belizean of today MUST NOT, SHOULD NOT be like this. The Belizean woman must have some form of dignity. Certin things are not necessary.

The wife may at times be the tormentor because she is tormented by the circumstances created by her husband having another woman. Unfortunately neither woman wants to realize that their problem was created by the man. He should be their target but instead they target each other. So, sometimes the wife is the stalker. She will torment the other woman because like any true lioness she must protect her cubs and her den. The other woman may not be a fighter nor one looking to stalk. Unfortunately she is the target of abuse both verbal and physical by the wife. LADIES WE LOOK REALLY SILLY WHEN WE FIGHT OVER MEN!!! It goes against the word LADY. It is the most unlady-like thing to do! LET THE MEN FIGHT OVER YOU. DON'T LOWER YOUR STANDARD BY RESORTING TO BLOWS. Why act like garbage? Be dignified. Be elegant. Be a LADY!!! AND Wife, you should do all your fighting with the source of your pain - YOUR HUSBAND!!!Think about it. Who broke your trust? You changed? Who is bringing you pain? None other than the man who swore to love you to the very end.

Belizean women, think before you do or say. Chose your battles carefully. Plan them well. Your childre, your life and your happiness is all you should be focused on.

Sioncerely yours,

It is the dawn of a new day in Belize and the dawn of new day in all our lives. As we look over the pass few months we are hit with the realization that life is a wonder. It is just great to be alive and to be able to enjoy all that life brings our way. If we are able to get up each day and see the light and work towards making our lives better for ourselves, then and only then can we say we are truly fortunate human beings.

Belizeans across the country can today be proud of having accomplished another milestone in their lives. They went to the polls and they voiced their opinion. They made this democratic process work. Of this we have a lot to be proud Belizeans. There is no doubt in my mind that we have come to that point in time for which we were destined. We have achieved our just objectives and we are prepared to go the full mile in order to maintain our ideals and ideas. Hats off to the Belizean people. Hats off to the blue, white and red.

A cry in the night,
To a dawn that came with new light,
Can surely mean we have grown,
To protect this place we call home.

Like a mother will protect her young,
So do Belizean protect their city and town,
For there is no place like this on earth,
This place we call home, this land of our birth.

For what we truly must believe,
Is that which we give, we will receive,
And come with will and come what may,
It is the dawn of a bright, new Belizean day.

DREAMS AND REALITIES. Where do they begin and where do they end? Most of us have many dreams when we are children. We dream of all the things we want to be when we grow up. We dream of all the things we will do and all the adventures we will have in our minds and hearts. Ah, youth how wonderful you were.

Then suddenly we are teenagers and we don’t seem to have all those dreams anymore. What happened? What changed? How did we lose that great enthusiasm we once had? Where did we go astray? Suddenly we are busy having fun and doing crazy things. We stay out late, get drunk, skip classes and don’t do our assignments. When we think about it again the thought returns. Ah, youth, how wonderful you were.

All too soon we are graduating high school and entering university or getting jobs. Then it hits us. Bam! We are thrown in the wind and realize that life is hard. Nothing is fair and we have to work to survive. Darn, youth, how wonderful you were.

I guess the realization of life is simple and the sooner we teach the younger generation to appreciate it, the better we will all be. First, we get to have a happy carefree existence as children. Next we are asked to make choices and to focus on school. Then we are told it is time to get a job. Part time at first because we are studying but afterwards we are told to get serious and get a decent paying job. Darn, youth, how wonderful you were.

Responsibilities then begin to grow and the next thing you know we are getting our own houses and getting married. Whether it was shot gun type or just the normal wedding, we know that there is a lot in store for us with this new life. Reality strikes. We are faced with knowledge and truth. Shucks, youth how wonderful you were.

The reality we have to face as we grow up is as old as the earth. There is nothing we can do but accept it. That is the truth that comes with the knowledge that we have grown, that things change and that life is HARD. However, we must not despair. We will not be the first to go through life with this realization and we sure as rain won’t be the last.

Be sure to have close contact with family and friends. That is the secret. They will be your rock, your strength and your support. That is how you can have a happy life. That is how DREAMS become REALITIES.

Just remember you must dream a lot so that you can have an active, happy youth. This will nourish your soul and prepare you for reality.
YOU CAN DO IT!!!! YOU WILL DO!!! How do I know this? Because that is just how life is.

With Love, Brenda

What does the Belizean dream of these days? Some of us have stopped caring too much because we have come to realize that whether we care or not things around us are evolving. However, that is the wrong thing to do. We should not give in or give up. This is our country and what happens to it is up to us. In just a few days we go to the polls to vote for the candidates of our choice. Whatever our choice is, it is our democratic right and we should do it.

Unfortunately many are already worried about the outcome of this election. Those who have jobs are in doubt as to what to expect. I ask you to take things calmly. Let us go about the business of the day as calmly as we can. Avoid getting into fights and arguments with others. Smile and be courteous as you go to cast your vote. It is your right and you are as important to this country as any of our politicians.

God bless and preserve this land of the freedom.

Yours for Belize,
Brenda Ysaguirre

So we have come to the end of the first semester at CCC ACE and the papers have been graded and the reports are being prepared. It was obvious from the papers I have checked that there is a dire need to get students focused on their studies.

Some schools are now working on the daily grades system so there is no examination at the end of the semester. While it is all good to focus on the daily grades and it minimizes the work load at the end of the semester, I wonder if we will be able to say the students have retained what they learnt for the semester. Will it open a bag of worms where the student will focus only on the task at the moment and by the end of the year he or she is lost on the materials taught. I FEAR THIS IS WHAT WILL HAPPEN.

Anyhow, presently we have to accept that some students do not function well on examination day. In fact from my experience in teaching, I have come to the conclusion that where my subject, ENGLISH, is concerned daily grades DO NOT reflect the student´s knowledge. AFTER I have averaged all the grades and the exam, the grade the student gets for the semester has always been the grade I AM COMFORTABLE WITH. For me, it has always shown the true grade and level of knowledge of the student. SO, while it would be nice to not have a lot of papers to check after examinations, I believe that I will continue to support end of semester examinations.

Sometimes we are faced with the reality that we are feeling something for someone that we take for love. We want to talk about that person and we want to know all about him or her all the time. We focus on the things they do and there is no end to wanting to know all about them. However, if the person is not returning your attention then you are stalking that person and you are obsessed. Obsession is dangerous because it can make a person do things that would be termed “crazy” by normal standards.

So how do we control this feeling that has possessed us where this person is concern? We have got to face reality soon or later and sooner is better because we are hurting ourselves and those around us. For don’t for one minute think that those around you are not aware that you are pursuing something that is not yours to follow. You are not aware of your actions but to those around you they are obvious.

You have got to get you sanity fast. Stop acting like an idiot. Grow up. If that person was interested in you they would have been running after you. You may be making that person uneasy. You may be making that person avoid you and those you hang around with.

What is even worst is if that person has a family of their own. Why would you want to get in between that? If there is children or a child involved, keep the hell away. If the person has a significant other, likewise, stop focusing your attention on the person. Maybe YOUR SIGNIFICANT OTHER is looking on and wondering what the hell is wrong with you or how the hell to tell you to stop acting like a fool.

If there is a big age gap between you and your obsession, all the more reason for you to get a life. Grow up. Stop acting like the fool you are appearing to be. Stop thinking the rest of the world is stupid that they can’t read between the lines. You are sending messages that you are not focusing on because you are distracted by your obsession.

So how do you recover from this state of being? Keep away from you obsession. Stop talking and praising that person, try not to dedicate time and space to her or him because those around you must been planning how to get you off that foolish DIET you have gotten yourself on. The OBSESSION DIET!!

Yes, you know who you are and you know who I am talking about. Stop it now before you destroy what you have for something you can’t.

If you are weak, I suggest you try mediation. Go for a massage and temazcal, visit friends and family. Whatever you do. Get it right before you end up losing.

I think I have always been a dreamer. I grew up in a world of make believe and happy endings. The hardships of my life did not overpower my happiness. It only made me stronger as I grew older. Life's lessons are sometimes necessary to help us to grow in ways we would not have done if we were pampered.

So how does the dreamer keep reality from that which isn't? I don't think you do. I believe that once a dreamer establishes that she or he has a dream it cannot be thwarted in any way. To stand for what you believe, to dream for a better tomorrow - that is all part of life.

Some one told me this morning that I was born lucky because throughout life I had always held leadership positions. I guess the willingness to grow with one's dreams can create solid indivduals. It helps a person to know what she or he wants and to fight for that goal.

So why is it that many Belizean women sit back and let time rule their lives? Simple question, difficult to answer. Fo centuries the Belizean woman was told that she was nothing. She was the servant of the Belizean man. Times have changes, ladies, and if you want self respect and the respect of the masses (others) you have got to take control of your lives and stop being a slave to a person who has no respect for you. Look around you. There are many good men out there who are loving, kind, understanding and fun to be with. You share a life with someone like this and you do things for and with them because it feels right. Because it makes you whole. And, every now and then that man will do something really different that will make you realize that you have chosen the right man to be in your life.

So my Belize Beauty, dream of a better life. Dream of success in the Belizean surroundings. Dream of Love. Dream of Happiness. Promise yourself that you will have control of your life. Promise yourself to LOVE YOU MORE. For it is not until you have learnt to love yourself that you can love others and find peace in your surroundings.

Yours sincerely,
